Volunteer troops take their oath

SKOPJE, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia* - Troops from the NATO Advisory Team of the NATO Liaison Office Skopje took part in the voluntary service Soldiers’ oath in Veles, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, July 7, 2017.
 
The event takes place three or four times a year at the Training and Doctrine Center in Veles.
 
The Minister of Defence, Radmila Shekerinska, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Army Major General Muhamet Racaj, and other high officials were present at the ceremony.
 
Shekerinska thanked the attendees for being there for the Soldiers, including the NATO Liaison Office Skopje, for its continuous support. She told the troops they’re the future defenders of the country and ambassadors of peace in multi-national peace operations. The Minister also expressed hope that the new Soldiers will seek a career in the profession of arms.
 
Within the new class of 50 volunteer Soldiers, there were 10 females, a considerably higher number compared to previous generations. Over the next few months, they will undergo basic training in the Individual Training Center.
