Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Naples prepares for, plans and conducts military operations in order to preserve the peace, security and territorial integrity of Alliance member states and freedom of the seas and economic lifelines throughout SACEUR's Area of Responsibility (AOR) and beyond.
 
Twenty-two NATO nations contribute to the JFC Naples military staff in order to deter aggression and to contribute to the effective defense of NATO territory and forces, safeguard freedom of the seas and economic lifelines and to preserve or restore the security of NATO  nations.

NATO and Partner Chiefs of Defence conclude two days of meetings at NATO

Chiefs of Defence (CHODs) from sixty-seven NATO member and Partner countries have concluded two days of meetings at NATO Headquarters. Chaired by General Knud Bartels, Chairman of the Military Committee (CMC), NATO's highest-level military officers gathered in Brussels to discuss key security issues, in anticipation of the Defence Ministerial on 2-3 February 2012 and in light of the Chicago Summit in May. Discussions focused on Partnerships, Smart Defence and NATO operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo.

Within the framework of the activities implemented by NATO in BiH and in line with the overall support to the defense reform process, NATO HQ Sarajevo (NHQ Sa) supported the implementation of an awareness raising campaign aimed at providing relevant information to the different stakeholders in BiH about the NATO PERSPEKTIVA Programme (NPP).
General Knud Bartels starts as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee

Brussels, 02 January - Today, Danish General Knud Bartels assumed his position as Chairman of NATO 's Military Committee, for which he was elected by NATO's 28 Chiefs of Defence on 17 September 2011. Gen. Bartels succeeds to the Italian Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola.
